I've had alot of complaints from folks who seem to be having problems
installing the new SuperK HST even though it comes complete with an
installation utility! The problem is NOT with SuperK HST nor is it
with the installation utility.... rather, it is with the users
attempting to install SuperK HST! The problem all boils down to the
fact that these users are not reading what is displayed in front of
them or don't know how to follow SIMPLE instructions (so what else is
new)!
The SKinst instructions are as follows:
Install SuperK HST (Y/n) _
Upon entering Y or y or just hitting Enter, SKinst asks:
Full drive:\path (Enter = Current) _
Now folks, this is not a trick question! Simply, if the installation
utility (SKINST) and the SuperK HST library (SUPERK.HST) already
reside in the directory in which the actual SuperK HST files will
reside, just hit the Enter key... that's the big key on the right
side of the keyboard that looks something like this:
┌─────────┐
│ │
┌────┘ │
│ Enter ──┘ │
└──────────────┘
On the other hand, if the installation utility (SKINST) and the
SuperK HST library (SUPERK.HST) reside somewhere other than in the
directory in which the actual SuperK HST files will reside, enter the
FULL drive and path (Example: C:\BIN\MYFILES\ ) where SuperK HST will
in fact reside. That's all there is to it. Skinst will do the rest.
Sorry for the sarcasm but come on folks, really....
